CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Salisbury University senior Evan Graci, junior Quinn Griffith and sophomore Dan Fein have been named to the 2013 ECAC Division III South Baseball All-Star Team, the league announced recently.
Graci and Fein earned first-team honors while Griffith claimed second-team accolades.
Graci hit .389 (56-for-144) in 40 starts. He was second on the team in batting average, third in hits, RBIs (34), on-base percentage (.459) and total bases (73). The team's designated hitter, Graci was also named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Third Team, D3baseball.com Second Team All-South Region, All-CAC First Team and was a one-time member of the D3baseball.com Team of the Week in 2013.
Fein, a left-hander, appeared in 12 games, including eight starts, earning a 10-0 record and a single-season school-record 1.35 ERA in 66 2/3 innings. He had three complete games and one shutout, while striking out 45 and walking 16. His win total was tied for third in single-season program history. He was also an ABCA first-team all-region selection, D3baseball.com second-team all-region pick and All-CAC First Team this season. Fein claimed two CAC Pitcher of the Week awards and one ECAC South Division III South Pitcher of the Week honor.
Griffith hit a team-best .399 (59-for-148), starting all 42 games at first base this season. He also led the team in hits, slugging percentage (.561), on-base percentage (.505), doubles (15), total bases (83) and walks (25). Griffith's doubles total was tied for 10th most in a single season at SU. He was selected to the ABCA All-South First Team, the D3baseball.com First Team All-South Region, the All-CAC First Team and was a member of Capital One Academic All-District Team.
Salisbury finished 33-9, advancing the NCAA Division III South Regional final in Millington, Tenn. SU won the 11th CAC championship in program history and made its 14th consecutive – and 19th overall – appearance in the NCAA tournament.
