Sea Gulls start the season ranked seventh in the nation
TUCSON, Ariz. - The Salisbury University baseball team has been ranked No. 7 in the American Baseball Coaches Association NCAA Division III Preseason Poll. Last season Salisbury posted a record of 38-8 and received 242 totals points in the poll.
The Sea Gulls are in a top 10 that includes No. 1 University
of St. Thomas, No. 2 College of Wooster, No. 3 Eastern
Conn. St. University, No. 4 Chapman University, No. 5 Carthage
College, No. 6 Kean University, No. 8 Shenandoah University, No. 9
Trinity (Conn.) College and No. 10 Pomona-Pitzer College.
SU will square off with two teams ranked in the preseason top 30
poll and one team that received votes in the poll. SU will face No.
23 Ithaca College (March 28), No. 30 Johns Hopkins University (May
5) and Christopher Newport University (March 4 & April 23).
Salisbury plays its first game of the year at Apprentice School on
Feb. 14 at 1 p.m., and its home opener is on Feb. 20. The Sea
Gulls will square off against Staten Island in a doubleheader that
starts at noon.
