SU remains No. 2 in D3baseball.com/NCBWA Top 25 poll
MINNEAPOLIS - The D3baseball.com/National
Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Top 25 poll was released
Tuesday and Salisbury University remains ranked at No. 2 for the
second consecutive week. This is the fourth time this season that
the Sea Gulls (29-4, 15-3 Capital Athletic Conference) have been
ranked second by the media poll. SU received 10 first-place votes
and 588 total points.
Millsaps College (30-4) jumped from No. 3 to No. 1 in this
week's poll as the Major collected 10 first-place votes and 597
votes. Wheaton (Mass.) College (24-3) moved from No. 4 to No. 3 as
the Lyons received four first-place votes and 563 points.
University of Texas-Tyler (31-6) advanced one position to No. 4 as
the Patriot collected 521 points. University of Southern Maine
(20-3) rounds out the top five as the Huskies received 501 total
points. The College of St. Scholastica (21-2) received the final
first-place vote as the Saints brought home 495 points.
CAC member York (Pa.) College was the only other conference
school to be recognized as the Spartans (23-7, 13-5 CAC) received
18 points.
SU is currently ranked No. 6 in the American Baseball
Coaches Association/Collegiate Baseball NCAA Division III poll. The
new coaches' poll will be released on April 21.
Salisbury is the No. 1 seed headed into this week's CAC
tournament. The Sea Gulls are looking for their fourth straight CAC
championship, ninth overall.
