Andrew Miller named CAC Baseball Player of the Week
YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced its weekly award winners on Monday and Salisbury University sophomore outfielder Andrew Miller was named the baseball honoree for the week of May 4. Miller is just the second Sea Gull baseball player this season to be named CAC Player of the Week as senior Cody Collins was honored on March 30.
Miller had an outstanding week for the No. 4 Sea Gulls (36-6) as they notched a pair of in-state wins over Johns Hopkins University and Washington (Md.) College. Miller came up a grand slam shy of hitting a home run cycle against the Blue Jays as he hit three home runs on the day. He scored five runs in the game, drove in five runs and went 4-for-6 at the plate. The Schwenksville, Pa., native had two steals in the game and has now stolen safely in 30-consecutive attempts dating back to last season. Against the Shoremen, Miller had a pair of hits and drove in one run in the 12-3 victory.
Salisbury is next scheduled to play at home against Montclair State University (25-15) on Wednesday, May 6, at 3:30 p.m. The game will close out the regular-season for the Sea Gulls.
