Salisbury University announces Award of Excellence

SALISBURY, Md. – The Salisbury University Athletics Hall of Fame, which has been honoring influential  student-athletes and administrators since 1985, will look to reach beyond the limitation of individuals’ time at Salisbury University with the announcement of a new award.

During the summer of 2011, the Board of Directors created the Salisbury University Athletics Hall of Fame Award of Excellence. The new award may be presented to a former student-athlete who graduated at least 20 years prior to nomination. The Award of Excellence will honor an individual’s career work and deeds which has brought honor and dignity to the individual and, in turn, Salisbury University. 

This award is symbolic of the positive traits and virtues developed as a result of athletics competition which demonstrates the value of education through athletics and then applied to one’s career and life beyond Salisbury University.

Nominations are being accepted for the Award of Excellence for the 2011 Hall of Fame Ceremony, which will be held on Friday, Nov. 4 as part of Homecoming Weekend festivities.
