The junior midfielder scored the winning goal in Salisbury’s 7-6 victory over Hamilton College in the NCAA division III National Championship game on Sunday. The Phoenix, Md., product received a pass from teammate Beth Rhodey, and quickly shot the ball into the top right corner of the goal with just 5:56 remaining on the clock. The goal was the last of the contest, and named the Sea Gulls the National Champions, a first for the Women’s lacrosse program. McCausland was named the NCAA All-Tournament Most Outstanding Player for her efforts.

The senior attackman carried the Sea Gulls to a thrilling 14-13 overtime victory over Stevenson University Sunday, to advance them to the NCAA division III National Championship game. The Port Washington, N.Y., native scored a game-high four goals off of five shots on goal in the win. Winter has the second-most goals of the team so far this season, with 52. Salisbury will advance to play Tufts University in the NCAA division III National Championship game, scheduled for Sunday, May 30 at 12 PM at M&T Bank Stadium, in Baltimore, Md.
