YORK, Pa. – The Capital Athletic Conference announced its 2016-17 All-Academic Team and Salisbury University student-athletes made up a large number of the record 1,501 named to the team.
Salisbury had 199 named to the team, the second highest total in the CAC, behind only York College of Pennsylvania, which saw 252 earn the honor.
The 199 Sea Gulls makes up 47 percent of the CAC-eligible student-athletes at Salisbury, as the percentage ranked sixth in the league.
To be eligible for the honor, a student-athlete must have a 3.20 grade-point average for the 2016-17 academic year. A total of 46.2 percent of CAC student-athletes made the list, with York's 59.9 percent leading the way.
