Tennis Courts
Salisbury University has outdoor and indoor tennis courts which are used by the Sea Gulls. The Indoor Tennis Center features three courts and lockerrooms and is located on Milford St. next to the University Fitness Center, which is on the corner of Wayne St. and Milford St. Salisbury's Outdoor Tennis Courts are off of College Ave. behind Fulton Hall and in between Holloway Hall and the Teacher Education Technology Center (TETC). There are 12 outdoor courts, six are lighted. All surfaces are considered hard courts. The public is encouraged to contact the SU Indoor Tennis Center (see below) about lessons, stringing rackets and/or scheduling time on the courts.
History
The Indoor Tennis Center was built in the late 1970's and operated
as a private club until the University purchased it in the 1990's.
The indoor courts were resurfaced in 2001. The outdoor courts first
started as six asphalt courts in the early 1960's that had nets
made out of chain link fence. Since then six additional courts and
lights have been built while the playing surface and nets were
upgraded. The outdoor courts were resurfaced in 2000.
